The matatu industry has lost Sh6.7 billion in the last month due to post-election violence, the Matatu Welfare Association said Sunday. Most losses are attributed to lost revenue since matatu owners wary of the security situation withdrew their vehicles from the roads. Some 5,270 operators have lost their jobs. 2000 vehicles have been lost.
